Spring is finally here. It was 60F today here. It seems like everybody loves it. I bet. Being in the crazy Midwest and going through all the fun snowstorms make mid-westerners die for green and warm weather.
The 9th week of school was over. Just can't believe how time flies, as always. I am marching to the last semester of senior year slowly, but also fast. It's definitely scary. It's also almost time for searching a job, such and such.Growing up is a scary process.
I had a very relaxing spring break last week. I went to Chicago to meet up with my friend Jocelyn. She is my best friend from high school in China. She came to U.S. a year before me and graduated from Kansas University. For some reasons, we haven't seen each other for almost two years. Anyway, we stayed with a Cameroon friend 20 minutes away from downtown Chicago. I felt like home when I was there for the whole time. Although I was unfamiliar with Chicago bus, subway, train, and almost everything, it was awesome to be there. It was also familiar because it's city system. Tons of walking, transportation taking, and people surrounding, we loved it. It's like home far away from my own home. It was awesome enough to just wander in the city but doing nothing. I like that. However, it's creepy because there are way more homeless people than I thought. The metro is old and smelly. I think the metro is old not only in this city, but also in New York. I understand they have been here for a long time, but it should be maintained well to represent the city. Well, I am glad enough to go everywhere without driving.
My Cameroon friend, Vitavi, made Cameroon dish for us. She made plantains, baked fish, and stir fried for us. They were delicious. Jocelyn and I took Vitavi to Chinatown to have dim sum and walked around in the town. I probably gained 10 pounds over that week. Jocelyn and I ate so much at downtown and Chinatown. We didn't miss any chance of going to the real Chinese food place. :P Man, it was good!
Now I am back to the little town and drive around. I do like the small city which is peaceful and quiet.
